For claims for asbestos illnesses caused by military service
There is no specific MoD compensation scheme for asbestos claims involving military service (pre 1987 exposure and diagnosis) as the Crown Proceedings Act 1947 (Section 10) applies. For further detail House of Lords judgment 2003 Matthews v MoD.

War Pensions are paid by the Veterans Agency and are non-discetionary, not means tested and are made on a non-fault, tax free and retrospective basis. They are uprated annually. The Veterans Agency also make provision for widows of Service and ex-Service personnel whose death is attributable to service in the form of a War Widows Pension...".
